Meeting Day/Time: 1st Wednesday monthly at 8.30pm (winter months) and 7.30pm (summer months), plus 'noggin and natter' any other Wednesday from about 8.30pm. Chesterfield MG Group, founded in 1979 by a small group of MG enthusiasts, is a club whose membership is not restricted entirely to MG owners but welcomes anyone with an interesting (classic or modern) car. The present membership totals just over sixty (cars) and is still growing. We also produce a monthly 'magazine' for members - the 'Spyer Flyer'. A thriving and very active social side sees members regularly participating in Sunday runs, weekends away, evenings out, plus our regular monthly meeting. In addition to our mid season 'Marcham Road Run', which started in 1990 and gets its name from 'Marcham Road' - the address of the old MG factory, the Club also holds two other annual national runs. Each April there is the 'Shakedown Run', started in 1995, and each September the relatively new (2002), yet already proving to be very popular, 'Good Night Sweetheart Run'. Both events are organised by one Club member to whom we are extremely grateful. A former Club member also started the well-known 'Kimber' Birthday Run in 1988. Although its organisation was handed over to MGOC in 2000 Chesterfield MG Group still help with the marshalling under the direction of the West Midlands Regional Secretary. If you live in the Chesterfield area (although some members do come from much further afield), own an MG or other marque, and fancy a friendly chat, entertainment and food then why not come along to one of our monthly meetings. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at THE SHOULDER - HARDSTOFT - S45 8AF. Usual starting time is 8.30pm. but 7.30pm. during the summer months. Any other Wednesday a few members turn up about 8.30 ish just for a 'noggin and natter'. So don't be shy give us a try! |
